Saint Isidore

Today, May 16, according to our Benedictine Ordo, we celebrate St. Isidore, the patron saint of farmers. The windows that are posted here are on the north side of our chapel. I see these windows every day. The artist who created these windows tried to create movement and one of those movements is upwards. As I look at these windows in the early morning, I am reminded of the veggies and flowers sprouting and rising from the ground. The artist used all earth tones in our windows. She created both horizontal and vertical movement. As all plant life is awakening, I notice the vertical movement particularly in our windows — plant life sprouting and pushing its way through rocks and soil. It is a sure sign of life and growth! – Fr. John Hagemann
