Fifth Sunday of Lent: Dying to Self

Amen, Amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.

Although the seeds in the photo are not wheat seeds– they are rye, vetch, and radish seeds. These are often used for cover crops and sprout quickly and flourish. Already in mid-March this future corn field (in MM’s garden) is benefitting from the nutrients of the cover crop and to provide for an abundant crop of delicious sweet corn.
We must die to ourselves and know that our dying produces much fruit!
