Monastic Giving
The monks of Mount Michael have been serving the Omaha area for over 60 years. The monastic community at Mount Michael strives each day to fulfill the motto of their founder, Saint Benedict – ora et labora (Prayer and Work). The monks gather in the chapel five times each day for prayer and worship. Between these times of prayer, members of the Abbey can be found at their work throughout the abbey and school. This routine is not unlike that prescribed by Saint Benedict over 1500 years ago for his monks at Monte Cassino. Your gift helps ensure the monks of Mount Michael can continue living in the Benedictine tradition.
We encourage you to become an Abbey GEM. GEMs are our donors who set up regular, recurring gifts to the Abbey. GEMs provide the monastic community with reliable, regular gifts so the abbey can plan and develop forward looking programs.
