There Is Always a Lesson in Nature

In the last few days, the irises of our garden are really putting on a show. An iris is a very delicate and fragile flower. Abbot Theodore always referred to them as a poor man’s orchid.

In reality, an iris is much more delicate than an orchid. But both are incredibly beautiful.

An iris has 6 petals. The bud is tightly wrapped and then it unfolds with 3 petals rising and 3 descending. Each one is perfect. Each obeys its creator and designer.

To me, they are a mystery unfolding before our eyes. If only we, as humans, could do the same.
