Spring is Springing – Happy Easter
Green is the color of life! Flowers are even more a sign of life and the continuance of life. There have always been monks in our abbey who have had a green thumb so to speak. Monks who have a way with plants and flowers.
Br. Luke Clinton is one of those monks at Mount Michael. He has plots and pots of plants and flowers outside and inside. Over the years, he has learned how to save flowers that were put on other monks’ graves and to keep them alive. The orchid pictured below was on Abbot Raphael’s grave and Br. Luke was able to restore it. Its flowers are stunning.
A Boston Fern was given to us from one of the seniors—his grandmother said it was too large for her home. The monks have kept it alive, and it is flourishing. It is a reminder of this student and his family.
Spring has sprung. Green is a sign of life. Mount Michael Monks wish you all a Blessed Easter filled with new life and beautiful flowers.
