Lent: Ash Wednesday

Today, March 6, we begin the Lenten Season. It is Ash Wednesday. We mark our foreheads with ashes, reminding ourselves that we come from dust and will return to dust. We monks also offer bona operas — good works to God during this season. We offered them to God at offertory during our Eucharist on Ash Wednesday. They are in the basket in front of the altar.
