Divine Mercy Sunday — A Day and Weekend Filled with Community and Spiritual Events
The parents of Harvey Von Dollen presented their son for baptism. And so little Harvey began his Christian life at Mount Michael —indeed a fitting place to do so as his father is the Development Director. The Easter fount was still fresh with the blessing of the Easter Vigil. Harvey did not even cry with the less than warm water from the fount. Rather, he seemed to like it. Welcome to the Christian Community.
Aaron Karnish and the other deans organized an outing at Mahoney State Park for the boarding seniors. The weekend was full of brotherhood that will be treasured long after graduation. They completed their weekend by joining the Mount Michael community with the Eucharist on Sunday as well. They reported that it was a memorable and great weekend.
Finally, the monks ended Divine Mercy Sunday with our Oblates. Although this occasion is to mark the Feast of St. Benedict, March 21, the Lenten season does not lend itself very well to the feast. So, we celebrate during Easter time. It is one oblate event that is usually well attended— even some oblates of the class of 2025 showed up.
