Bittersweet
12/02/19
Each year in late November, I start looking in the places where I have found bitter-sweet growing in the past. For the most part it has never failed me. Br. Jerome has always liked using bitter-sweet for the environment in chapel for both the Advent and Christmas seasons. The vine is an interesting plant that grows wild. One just has to look for it. In some ways these seasons are bitter sweet themselves— a Child is born only to die soon in life — but this Child is a special one — none other than our Savior. There is something about this that is bitter-sweet. – Fr. John Hagemann OSB
